Praia Dona Ana is in the area known as Costa D 'Oiro, name due to the yellow/golden color of the rocks that surround this beach and which is the largest among the several beaches of unique beauty, protected from the wind and calm and clear waters, located between the city port to the Ponta da Piedade lighthouse. The proximity of Lagos makes it popular in the summer. The rocks on the beach provide shade for visitors. The sea is calm and bathers usually swim to the base of the cliffs and sharp rocks that emerge from the water.
History:
The beach was named after the nun Ana, who lived in the nunnery of Lagos. During World War I, soldiers invaded the convent and murdered all the nuns, with the exception of D. Ana, who had access to a tunnel between the convent and the beach. D. Ana fled through the tunnel and was the only one who survived.

Praia do Camilo
Praia do Camilo is the most beautiful beach in the municipality of Lagos and is accessed through a wooden staircase. The cliff that borders the beach offers a fabulous panoramic view of the coastline between Lagos and Albufeira.
This beach is divided by a huge rock formation that you can walk through an excavated tunnel, where you can see a large number of shells embedded in the rock.

Ponta da Piedade
The cliffs of the Ponta da Piedade headland is one of the finest natural features of the Algarve. This dramatic limestone coastline is formed of sea pillars, fragile rock arches and hidden grottos, all of which have been chiselled-out by savage winter storms.
The Ponta da Piedade is a bleak and windswept headland, and the beauty of the region is only discovered on descending the cliffs, where the exposed cliffs reveal their golden colour, and the turquoise sea waters lap precariously balanced rock formations. The headland can only be described as stunning.

We would absolutely recommend this tour. It was the highlight of our trip! We were so glad to book with the Lagos Boat Tours rather than a larger boat, not only because they were so knowledgeable (over 40 years of experience!) but because the small boats can personalize your trip and take you in the smaller caves. We booked a morning trip, and the light was great.

Incredible grottes, it is a paradise. We visited several places far and inside the grottes. The guiders knew a lot about the beaches seen. I encouragely recommend to do this tour.
The best boat trip to the most beautiful place

What an amazing boat trip with Captain Rui and his assistant Felix today. They met us right at the dock for an easy departure. Rui was so knowledgeable about the local history and showed us the most beautiful rock features. This is the only way to see the beaches in Lagos: we managed to get right up close and into the caves- what an amazing boat driver ! I would highly recommend using this local company for your trip - you won’t regret it !

Beautiful tour with a great guide and and a steady boat. Our guide was very informative and took us to beautiful locations in the sea. We took the last slot which was 4:15 pm and it was almost sunset time so the sky and sun was beautiful. 100% recommend

Tour was very interesting. The start of the tour is purely scenic, but as you approach some of the coastal caves things get a bit exciting. Very skilled boat operator. Very nice and informative. We really enjoyed the trip and the scenery. Worth it!

It was 8 of us and we all enjoyed this boat trip along the coast line very much!!! The tour guide was very pleasant and informative. The ocean was a bit rough that day but the guide had a great control of the boat so we felt safe. We all would recommend this trip to everyone and can definitely say that it was worth the money paid! This trip is a must when visiting Lagos!
